[HMB] Honeymoon Bay Fishing Adventure ex Kununurra
Where the fishermen go to fish
Depart Kununurra in the early morning by light aircraft charter for the very isolated Aboriginal community outstation of Honeymoon Bay (north of Kalumburu), where your hosts Lancho and Joy welcome you to their remote paradise.
You are soon on the water in the fully surveyed MV Jaralgun, in the safe hands of Lancho and his trusted deckie, while discussing your preferences:
• Reef fishing for Trevally, Queenfish, Cod or Bluebone.
• Beach fishing for Salmon or Saddletail, or
• Tidal Creek fishing for Barra or Mangrove Jack.
Or why not try them all? You are on the water with Lancho for 6 hours!
Enjoy freshly caught bar-b-que fish on any number of idyllic beaches or step ashore at Red Buff for a fascinating wander through the “Lost City”.
Lancho will also teach you the ancient art of fishing with a spear.
While catch-and-release is encouraged, you are welcome to take home one fish (cleaned, filleted and packed on ice).
Everything is provided: Rods, tackle and bait (or bring your own gear if preferred), water, snacks and lunch (you catch it and we cook it – bush style!)
A spectacular Kimberley sunset from the air concludes this extraordinary day.
Available April to October, daily on demand.
Cost: $1,450pp (min 4 / max 5 guests)
